Palmer High School, located in downtown Colorado Springs, offers a comprehensive education that prepares students for college, careers, and life. The school features robust Career and Technical Education programs, award-winning performing arts, and competitive athletic teams that foster excellence and teamwork.

Palmer's new renovation offers students the ability to learn in an environment that strengthens productivity, learning, and cooperation between peers. As each Palmer student will be enrolled in at least one IB (International Baccalaureate) course throughout their high school career, students gain more in-depth knowledge and develop stronger critical thinking abilities as opposed to traditional classes, offering valuable preparation for college or other post-secondary plans. At Palmer, students are inspired and encouraged to continue their thinking beyond just the classroom, while engaging, leading, and achieving with their community.

Career Pathways and College Credit Opportunities

Palmer offers hands-on learning experiences beyond a traditional high school:

• Career and Technical Education (CTE): Many different pathways available specific to occupations, such as: healthcare, art, culinary, cosmetology, multimedia, and technology.
• ACE (Alternative Cooperative Education): Earn credit through real-world work experience.
• International Baccalaureate (IB): Middle Years (MYP), Diploma (DP) and Career-related (CP) Programs offered at Palmer, with each course developed around IB's rigorous and renowned curriculum.  
• Award-winning Performing Arts: Explore Palmer's various performing art programs with statewide recognition for their excellence! Students have the opportunity to engage with the community, expressing their creativity and talent behind the scenes or in the eyes of families.
• College Credit Opportunities: Through Palmer courses and partnerships in the Pikes Peak region, students have the ability to enroll in courses that transfer to college credit through PPSC or other participating institutions.

A Tradition of Excellence

With over 43,000 alumni and 150 years of serving Colorado Springs, Palmer High School (previously Colorado Springs High School) offers a rich history with many traditions, such as the Terror Fight Song, the Bonfire, and many more. Students are welcomed into Palmer with the annual ringing of the bell, and finally leave by ringing the bell once more before graduating.
